The first concept is "internal fifth columnist" by Fairbairn. It's a clever way of saying "self attacking".
From Betty Joseph is the word "chuntering". But for her it's not the mumbling and grumbling under your breath, it's "finding fault and complaining."
Rumination is a key word and DBT, and is suggestive of the wheel spinning quality of this pseudo-thinking.
As I get further into mentation, I like more words to describe things.
