question

Reading about pathology, I feel like I have the pathology, until I remember that pathology is a matter of degrees. Of course I have traces of the pathology, but that doesn't mean it raises to the level of a disorder.

I was reading Stephen M. Johnson's book Character Styles, when I read on p.97 the question, "How does one know whether the negative behaviors of others is the result of their internal preoccupation or their specific response to us personally?"

I'm not sure if I have a good sense of this, but then again life is about living the questions. It's a good question.

I think I can tell, sometimes, or even most of the time. But I wonder how people know.
